2nd December 08 - Competitor cleaning prices assessed

With Christmas just around the corner and business hotting up we undertook a little exercise of analysing the cleaning pricing of our local competition.

We invited two popular cleaning franchises along to quote for the weekly cleaning of a 3/4 bedroom house in Shrewsbury.

Our assessment of the property combined with our experience of cleaning similar properties resulted in a cleaning time between 3 and 4 hours.

 

Company 1 - Quoted £110-00 per cleaning visit

Company 2 - Quoted £85-00 per cleaning visit

Chore Choice - Quoted £52-00 per cleaning visit for a 4 hour clean

 

Needless to say we were amazed. Neither of the companies could give an estimated number of hours to clean and quite simply stated it will take as long as it takes! Not much good for those of you that like to plan your time!!

Furthermore, each of the companies increased their quotations for a two weekly and monthly visit - a practice we totally disagreed with.

We did find that because they were both franchises a proportion of the fee is passed on to the franchise sellers which clearly increased the cost to the client.

We also took the opportunity to research a number of smaller companies through the world wide web and found the average hourly rate out there to be £15-00.

So, what does this mean? - Well most importantly, we remain affordable which to many of us in todays climate is very important.
